Role Specification
QuickBooks Specialist
A certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor who knows the platform better than most local hires.

What this role covers
A QuickBooks specialist is a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor who lives inside the platform: new file setup, conversions from Desktop or other systems, app integrations, cleanup engagements, and ongoing bookkeeping. When your firm standardizes on QBO, a specialist who knows every corner of the product shortens every engagement.
The monthly workflow
Core responsibilities
- New QuickBooks Online file setup and chart of accounts design
- Conversions from QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage, and spreadsheets
- App marketplace integrations (Bill.com, Hubdoc, Gusto, A2X, Shopify)
- QBO cleanup and reclassification engagements
- Ongoing bookkeeping and month-end close in QBO
- QBO training for client staff and junior bookkeepers
A day in the life
- Set up a new QBO file: chart of accounts, classes, locations, bank feeds
- Run a conversion from QuickBooks Desktop or Xero with historical balances
- Connect and configure app integrations (Bill.com, Hubdoc, A2X)
- Work a cleanup: reclassify a year of miscoded transactions and reconcile
- Configure bank rules and batch categorization to cut ongoing manual work
- Train a client's staff or a junior bookkeeper on QBO workflow
The software, in detail
Deep QuickBooks Online (Essentials, Plus, and Advanced — including batch transactions, custom reporting, and Rules), QuickBooks Desktop, and QuickBooks Payroll, plus the Apps.com ecosystem (Bill.com, Hubdoc, Gusto, A2X, Shopify, Stripe). We verify active ProAdvisor certification and prefer Advanced-certified candidates for complex work.

- ✕Advisory and CFO services

The Philippines has one of the largest QuickBooks ProAdvisor populations outside North America. Many candidates have completed Intuit's certification path and worked on U.S. firm QBO files for years. We verify active certification and test on real QBO scenarios, not just the exam.
