FAQ
Questions, answered straight
No fluff. These are the questions buyers actually ask before they book a call — about cost, security, hours, vetting, onboarding, contracts, and what happens if things go sideways. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.
Cost
A dedicated offshore bookkeeper from the Philippines is $8.50/hour for a bookkeeper with 5+ years of experience and $10.75/hour for a bookkeeper with 10+ years of experience. Every role — bookkeepers, senior bookkeepers, AP/AR clerks, payroll specialists, QuickBooks and Xero specialists — is priced on those same two experience tiers. The rate is flat — it covers recruitment, vetting, the bookkeeper's full-time hours, employment, benefits, and onboarding. There is no placement fee. See our pricing page for the full breakdown and a cost calculator.
Security & data protection
Yes, with the right controls. Your offshore bookkeeper accesses your accounting software through your own accounts with role-based permissions — not shared logins. Every bookkeeper signs an NDA before touching your data. The most important security control is separation of duties: your bookkeeper prepares and codes; your team approves and pays. We design every engagement so authority stays with you.
Working hours & timezone overlap
Your bookkeeper works the hours you request. Most clients choose a U.S. business-hours overlap — for example, 8am to 5pm Eastern, or a split shift that covers your reviewers' hours. We do not force graveyard shifts unless you specifically ask for one. The bookkeeper works full-time (40 hours/week) on your clients only.
Hiring & vetting
For standard roles (bookkeeper, AP/AR, payroll), 10–14 business days from a signed engagement to a bookkeeper starting in your systems. For senior roles, 12–18 business days, because we interview 3–5 candidates before sending a shortlist. AP and AR clerks can sometimes be placed faster, in 7–10 business days.
Onboarding
A structured 30-60-90 plan. Days 1–30: access provisioned, shadow your senior on two pilot clients, take on reconciliations and coding, weekly check-ins with your account manager. Days 31–60: full load on assigned clients, owns month-end close, flags exceptions proactively. Days 61–90: steady-state capacity, suggests process improvements, ready to help train your next hire.
Contracts & notice periods
No. Engagements are month-to-month. You can scale up, scale down, or pause with notice. We believe a partner you can leave is a partner you trust more — lock-in isn't how we earn your business.
Replacement & guarantees
Engagements are month-to-month. If a bookkeeper isn't the right fit, tell your account manager and we'll replace them — there's no penalty and no long-term lock-in. We'd rather get you the right person than keep you in a contract.
